Eli Manning and the New York Giants(0-4) couldn't stop the peaking Kansas City Chiefs(4-0) on the road last Sunday. Right from the start, Chiefs tight end Sean McGrath caught a pass for a 5 yard touchdown. However, New York responded, with a completion by Victor Cruz, leading to a 69-yard touchdown. On the next drive, the Chiefs selltled for a field goal by Ryan Succop. Taking the lead 10-7, the next 2 drives were scoreless, leading up to halftime in KC.
When play resumed, Alex Smith threw an interception. The GIants attempted to start something, but their running game was unsuccessful, leading to a three-and-out. Just as the GIants struggled in the early second half, the Chiefs did, and were forced to punt. Plays later, Quintin Demps of the Chiefs picked off an interception. Once again, Chiefs defense went to work and forced a 3-and-out. On a long punt, Dexter McCluster ran for a 89 yard punt return, putting the Chiefs up 17-7.
In the fourth quarter, Alex Smith threw to Jamaal Charles for 6 points, extending to a '24-7' lead. The Giants retained possesion, but Eli Manning misthrew, landing in Eric Berry's hands. In the red zone, Alex Smith converted to Dwayne Bowe for 6 points. After a Giant's turnover, the Chiefs let the clock run, and won 31-7. Next week, the Chiefs play at the Tennessee Titans, hoping to reach 5-0, while the GIants play at the Eagle's MetLife Stadium on SUnday, hoping to turn their season around.
